Workshop Series at Dans Ta Bulle

For those of you interested in learning how to make your own skincare products, Tvine at Dans Ta Bulle is going to be hosting a series of workshops throughout March. I will be kicking off the series on March 1st, with my Balms and Bombs workshop. The other workshops will include a class on making creams and lotions, melt and pour soaps, natural household cleaners, and more. The workshops are presently only available as a package. There are a few spots left, so be sure to get in touch with Dans Ta Bulle quickly in order to reserve your place!

Share the Love!

I realize that this post comes a wee bit late for Valentines, but do you really need a declared day of the year to spontaneously share your love with your special someone? I think not! Since I've been thinking about ways to help my special man James enjoy his 30th birthday this Sunday I have one of my famous lists building up. Here's some of my thoughts for ways you can help brighten someone's day. If it isn't Valentines it could be a birthday, a downer day, a rainy day, an 'I lost my job' day, an 'I got a job' day... well you get the idea:)

1. Breakfast in Bed: A lovers classic. Make their favorite pancakes or try a healthy new dish. Poached eggs, sourdough bread and sliced fruit or a smoothie is simple to prepare but is extra special when served in bed. Include some reading material, organic coffee or herbal tea, some chill morning music... A decadent start to the day!

2. Draw them a bath: Another oh so simple treat for your special person. Set the mood with some relaxing music and healthy beeswax candles. Keep the bath water warm but not too hot. For fun add a bath bomb, or some bath salts and oils. Try a tablespoon of olive oil with 5-10 drops of lavender essential oil, or another favorite scent.

3. Massage: Brush up on some basic techniques by visiting your local library and taking out a book or video on basic massage techniques. Prepare a massage oil using a carrier oil such as olive, almond or grapeseed and add your partners favorite essential oils. Follow up with fresh vegetable or fruit juice and a healthy snack for a truly spa-worthy experience.

2 Gals Beauty Sale

My friend Nogah Rotstein and I recently decided to get over our winter blues and throw a beauty sale! Nogah makes gorgeous one of a kind jewelry using a lot of antique and recycled finds. I'm a big fan of her charm necklaces (guess who got the pink dragonfly necklace for Valentines from her guy?) and her delicate earings. I had my Honey Flower products laid out for sampling and for some mini-spa treatments. We also had some home-baked cookies and cupcakes, and refreshing sangria! Hanneman Designs/ Eco Darling were kind enough to share their boutique space with us that evening, which was great because it gave our guests a chance to check out their lovely new space on Villeneuve. We also raised money for 60 Million Girls that evening, an organization that helps empower young women in developing countries with an education. If you couldn't make it out to our 2 Gals Beauty Sale because of the blizzard (where is spring?) then be sure to check out these sites, and visit the HDED store on the next sunshiny day!
