Angie Johnson's delightful Norwegian Wood designs have started to trickle into Honey Flower land. I'm so glad because I absolutely love her work! Angie co-runs Headquarters with her boyfriend Tyson. HQ is an amazing gallery space and boutique specializing in clothing, accessories, housewares and art from tons of local or just plain awesome designers.

Check out the post SNAP Magazine did on the upcoming Honey Flower Boutique Launch!

Their primary focus is on that which is conceived, created and marketed in Montreal by artists, creative minds and young entrepreneurs. They cover the products, ideas, art, design, music and photography that are emerging in Montreal and the people and stories that are behind them.

Be sure to look for their magazine, it's a great read!

Proposed FDA Legislation Unfairly Threatens Indie Cosmetics Companies!

I just finished reading a post about this issue on the Indyish Blog and then headed straight for the Indie Business Blog for further details and to sign the petition.

The video on the Indie Business Blog summarizes the Indie Beauty Network's position against the Discussion Draft of the FDA Globalization Act of 2008, the legislation that would put thousands of Indies out of business by forcing them to pay outrageous registration fees and comply with burdensome paperwork.

Basically it would mean that small companies like Honey Flower would not be able to exist, and as a consumer you would only be able to buy your cosmetics and personal care products, even soaps, from the top corporations who can afford to comply with the new laws. When it comes to cosmetics regulations, Health Canada generally goes along with whatever the FDA decides so I'm sure the ramifications would be great for independent Canadian cosmetics businesses as well. When I have more information on this I'll be sure to post!

In the meantime, please check out the video and sign the petition at the Indie Business Blog

Big Bath Bombs!

Everyone loves the mini heart shaped bath bombs so much that I decided to do some big 'traditional' shaped bombs too! I still don't like the full ball because people find them too expensive for one-time use, and then you end up crumbling them into a big mess to try and spread out the bomb for a few different baths. It's too crazy folks! Stop the insanity!

So these bombs are just a half round. Perfect and affordable for 1 bath. They go for $3.50 in the boutique.

Let me know if you have any favorite scent ideas...
